Maintenance department to change temperature setting

The maintenance department is preparing to change the school to a summertime temperature setting during the week of spring break.

“We’ll be changing to the new cooling setting of 75 degrees,” Maintenance Foreman Mike Wyatt said.

According to Wyatt, the old wintertime temperature setting for the school was 68 degrees.

The change in temperature setting will be to the whole school. In addition, the new temperature setting will be installed in other buildings like the football stadium and the tennis building. To help with the change to the new temperature setting, the maintenance department will also be installing the air conditioning in the school. The water coolers were installed recently to help with the air conditioning.

The change in temperature setting has been to great importance to students.

“It was very hot, so I think it will be much more comfortable with air conditioning,” sophomore Drew Deaton said. According to Deaton, air conditioning would be helpful during the springtime.

The maintenance department will be busy on other projects during spring break.

“We will also be installing new shower shutoffs by the pool area,” Wyatt said. According to Wyatt, the maintenance department will be busy working on projects and updating the school equipment during the week of spring break.
