The cafeterias have implemented new changes to the lunch menu. According to Anne-Marie Woerner, food service manager, the cafeterias will increase the amount of bread being served with certain items at lunch. Not only will the cafeterias be serving more sources of grains with entrées, but its main manufacturer for peanut butter sandwiches, Smucker’s, is now discontinued.
Students have also noticed the discontinuation of Smucker’s, and the taste in the new peanut butter sandwiches that the cafeterias have to offer, according to sophomore Joie Li.
“The menu has changed slightly,” she said. “For example, the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches have gone from Smucker’s to a brand with two sandwiches per bag now.”
Items such as the macaroni and cheese, as well as the chicken tetrazzini, have been removed from this semester’s menu.
“I feel like the product is not that great, and until the vendor can correct the problem for the macaroni and cheese, and make it creamier and not so sticky, we have decided that we will instead serve mini corn dogs on Mondays instead,” Woerner said.
Woerner also said that as of now, the cafeterias likely will not implement any more changes to this semester’s menu.
“We’re pretty much locked in with what we’re serving now,” Woerner said.
