The members of Carmel Connects, who meet every Monday, hope to recruit new club members. According to sponsor Margaret Winans, more members will increase the efficiency of the process.
Winans said, “We want more members because then we can repurpose more computers. Our goal is to repurpose as many computers as possible.” People who are interested in joining Carmel Connects should visit Winans in Room F104 or talk to any current club members.
Carmel Connects club members repurpose computers for Net Literacy, an organization that distributes refurbished computers to less fortunate people. Recently, members of Carmel Connects have been working on repairing CD drives.
Pelle Wrammerfors, club member and sophomore, said, “We’re testing out CD drives because for the past few weeks they haven’t been working. If they don’t work, we can’t install and run Windows 7 on them.”
