Mentor and senior Cynthia Ziwawo and K-8 Mentoring sponsor Robin Pletcher share a laugh while having a discussion. Pletcher is currently interviewing prospective mentors for next year’s group.
K-8 Mentoring sponsor, Robin Pletcher, plans on selecting next year’s mentors. According to Pletcher, those who are applying to become mentors must fill out an application that consists of an essay and teacher recommendations. Afterwards, they must sit down with Pletcher for an interview. The requirements for the mentors can be found on page 18 in the Program of Studies.
Mentor and senior Cynthia Ziwawo said that she went through the application process. “I knew Ms. Pletcher, so I knew about (K-8 Mentoring) and when I read about it in the Program of Studies, it just seemed like something that I wanted to be a part of, because I love being with kids and I wanted to have (a good relationship) with a kid,” Ziwawo said.
Pletcher said that she is still in the process of interviewing possible mentors who have turned in their application, but the decision of next year’s mentors will come soon.
