The Sophomore Class officers plan for the Senior Salutations fundraiser, which is scheduled to start on May 21. According to Sophomore Class president Lauren Fogel, funds raised from Senior Salutations will be used to pay for the Senior Class graduation dinner.
“The graduation dinner is currently under-funded by around $8,000, so we’re trying to make up for some of that with the Senior Salutations,” Fogel said. “We really hope that it becomes a tradition, though, and we can continue this fundraiser for years to come.”
Sophomore Class sponsor Jennifer Williams said the Senior Salutations fundraiser was necessary due to the lack of magazine fundraiser funds raised for graduation. However, she also said it provides a good opportunity for a new tradition.
Williams said, “Although the funds will go to the graduation activities, I think that if we continue Senior Salutations for years to come, it will be a nice addition to the school.”
