On Sept. 27, the K-8 Mentoring class will travel from CHS to other schools in this district to begin meeting administrators and prepare for their first encounters with students, according to class instructor Robin Pletcher.
“On Wednesday we start going out to visit schools and they start meeting the counselors at the schools,” she said. “They learn all of the rules and procedures for each different school.”
Mentor and junior Jimmy Hayden said he was eager for the trips. “I think the tours will go well,” he said. “I’m pretty excited because I’m going to be closer to getting with the kids, which is the point of the class.”
Until then, the students will be finishing work in their schoolbook, according to Pletcher.
“On (Sept. 24) they’re going to be taking a final over the textbook information, and we’ll go over procedures we’ll have when we go out to visit schools,” she said.
