The all-school evacuation drill, previously scheduled for Oct. 8, has been rescheduled to Oct. 23 during SRT. Assistant principal Amy Skeens-Benton cited the drill coinciding with the end of the grading period as the cause of the change.

The planned drill coincides with distribution of the Oct. 23 issue of the HiLite, which will now be distributed at the conclusion of the drill or during the following period.

During the drill, students will evacuate to fire locations before relocating to the stadium. There, SRTs will settle at assigned locations until dismissal by the administration. Within the building, police officers and the fire department will go through the school.

According to administrative intern Jason Hicks, seating locations will be ordered by grade level. Below are the assignments:

Freshman – visitors’ stands
Sophomores and juniors – home stands
Seniors – on field
Mixed grade SRTs – on field
Special Services and ELL – south end zone
