With the first performance date for the winter production, Feb. 7, approaching, “Almost, Maine,” actors and Theater Productions director Maggie Cassidy have been practicing Monday through Thursday every week for two hours per day, according to Cassidy.
As director of the play, Cassidy said she not only supervises but also practices herself. Cassidy said all actors should have all their lines memorized by now. “The play is about nine love stories happening at the same time. None of them intertwine with each other,” Cassidy said.
Actor and sophomore Kristin Barnes said she practices outside of rehearsals by reading through her lines and going through the physical stage blocking in her mind. She said she also writes down her character back story to get a better feel of the character’s mindset. “I think it’s gonna be a great production,” Barnes said.
The performance dates for the play are Feb. 7 through Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m. and one 2:30 p.m. showing on Feb. 9. Tickets are available at the door, bookstore or online at www.totalgatesolutions.com.
