According to AVID senior leader Meredith Missler, the annual AVID banquet will take place on May 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the freshman cafeteria. AVID students interested in attending will have to reply to an email that will be set up specifically for the event.
Missler said that the banquet will be a semi-formal event, with attendees expected to dress up. There will also be assigned tables for attendees and decorations in preparation for the seniors’ graduation send off.
“It has been a pretty good year,” Missler said regarding her final year at CHS. “It’s pretty sad that it’s all over.”
AVID site coordinator Shannon Woodson said that the banquet will commemorate the accomplishments of the senior AVID students and also marks the leadership changes that AVID will undergo.
“We’ve got kids going all over the country, and I think it’s going to be exciting to see our juniors take new leadership roles in the program,” Woodson said.
