Members of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) are planning an additional bake sale that will take place in April, according to Katie Ingersoll, president of Students Taking Action with Recognition (S.T.A.R.) events and senior.
Club members will host the sale for Share Our Strength, an organization that combats child hunger, during the week of April 21 to 25, according to Vivian Heerens, vice president of community service and junior.
The club hosted a sale the week of March 17 to 21 for Autism Speaks.
“These sales are an important part of our community service initiative,” club sponsor Nancy Spencer said.
According to Ingersoll, eight FCCLA members qualified for FCCLA National Conference, which will take place from July 6 to 10 in San Antonio.
“We are going to try to find a way to raise money for this trip as it is more expensive than usual,” Ingersoll said.
