Assistant Principal Amy Skeens-Benton flips through the 2014–2015 Program of Studies. Skeens-Benton said most freshmen have already scheduled their classes for sophomore year, and eighth graders are ready to decide which clubs they are interested in for freshman year.
According to Assistant Principal Amy Skeens-Benton, members of the Freshman Class will be able to participate in Activities Night, also known as “Frosh Rock,” on April 16 from 7 to 9 p.m.
“It’s a night where eighth graders will be able to come in and see what kinds of clubs and activities Carmel has to offer,” Skeens-Benton said. “and freshmen who are in these clubs can represent their activities. I think it’ll be really great, and it’ll really encourage people to get involved freshman year.”
Freshman Stephanie Gohmann said she plans to help out with a UNICEF booth that evening.
“I’d like to be able to talk to eighth graders about joining the club,” she said. “I want the club to continue, so it’s important to me to talk to new people and convince them to join. And I think it’s nice for other clubs to show off to new members and maybe get them (to join), too.”
