The Academic Superbowl members finished their last invitational with a strong performance. According to club sponsor Matthew Dillon, the last invitational took place at Ben Davis High School where each CHS team placed either first or second in each subject area.
The next competition will be the regional competition, and will take place at Beach Grove High School on April 21. The regional
competition will determine the team’s spot in the state competition. The top seven in each category of each division will be chosen to move on to state.
“With Carmel High School, there’s usually at least one team that goes every year to state, and that is what my expectations are going to be this year too,” Dillon said. “If we go to state, that’s great, but as long as the kids enjoy themselves and learn something, that’s all that I want.”
With the regional competition coming up, the hard work and diligent studying is starting to pay off. According to member and junior Dorothy Vincent, the team is prepared for the competitions.
“I think I’m very prepared. We’ve been meeting for a couple weeks studying the material separately and in groups,” Vincent said.
