According to Sam Philleo, Chess Club co-president and junior, the club will compete in the State Finals on March 19 at Morton High School in Hammond.
All teams will play five rounds and trophies will be awarded to the top 10 teams, according to Philleo.
“Chess Club had a fantastic year last year by winning the fourth consecutive State Championship,” Philleo said.
According to Chess Club sponsor Margaret Winans, the next Chess Club meeting will be after school on March 21 in Room F103. Late bus passes will be provided.
