Melissa Settle, Best Buddies Club officer and senior, chats with her friend during lunch. This year is Settle’s fourth year in the club, and she said the SRT Christmas caroling has been a well-liked event in previous years.
To celebrate the holiday season, the Best Buddies Club will be caroling during SRT on Dec. 7 as well as doing a “gift-back” with the Kendra Scott store at The Fashion Mall at Keystone.
For the fundraiser, some of the proceeds from Kendra Scott purchases will go towards the Best Buddies Friendship Walk in April, which is a fundraiser for Best Buddies Indiana.
Melissa Settle, club officer and senior, said the club has participated in Christmas caroling in previous years as well.
Settle said, “That’s something we’ve done for the past few years, and everyone always really enjoys it.”
Club sponsor Christine Ellis said club members will primarily visit classrooms that are in the Freshman Center.
“Most of our buddies and peer buddies are in the Freshman Center, but I think we’ll get around,” Ellis said. “I think in the past we’ve gone to different parts of the school, and there will be separate groups that’ll be around to carol.”
