Rockette auditions for Holiday Spectacular are on Sept. 29 during SRT in Room E157. Students should come at 9:30 a.m., as opposed to at first session, and must have had tap-dancing training in order to audition, according to Diana Gillespie. However, they should wear dance or character shoes for the audition, not tap shoes, she said. Students should see choir instructors Lamonte Kuskye, Diana Gillespie, or Dianne Mantock for SRT passes.
The Rockettes are a special dance group for Holiday Spectacular. Students must audition for the group due to the difficulty of the perfomance, and around 30 members will be accepted into the group, according to Gillespie. This year, their performance is strictly a tap-dancing number.
“(The performance) is a real highlight of the show,” Gillespie said. “It’s a real privilege to be apart of the Rockettes.”
Holiday Spectacular this year will be on Nov. 30 to Dec. 4, excluding Dec. 2, because of a conflicting basketball game on the same day.
