Barden, originally from southern California, teaches at Butler University and lives in Indianapolis. He wrote “The Next Right Thing” which is about a home builder in south California who is looking for answers about his best friend’s death. Barden is also the author of “John Wayne: A Novel.”
“He is going to be giving us the brief on publishing, on getting books out, on everything,” Kinza Abbas, president and junior, said. The club is currently trying to find a date that is good for most members, according to Brickley. Anyone is welcome to come see Barden speak, and Brickley intends to talk about the guest speaker on the announcements. Brickley is also putting together the Creative Writing Contest literary magazine and aiming for it to come out in the next few weeks.
