Model U.N. members will travel to the IUPUI campus in downtown Indianapolis on March 13 and March 14 to debate about their countries and committees. Members have been preparing for the convention all season and will be able to put to use their newly gained knowledge of their various global topics.
Eleanor Spolyar, Model U.N. member and senior, said that she is very excited for the convention this week. “I’m excited to debate all I’ve learned, with other people representing other countries,” said Spolyar. Since Spolyar is a senior, she has looked back on her past years of Model U.N. and encourages all to join. “This year has been very informative,” said Spolyar.
Peter O’Hara, Model U.N. sponsor and social studies teacher, said that students are all very excited, and it has been a fun time getting ready. “We are now getting ready for the Model U.N. session, down at IUPUI,” said O’Hara. He said that the majority of members will be representing the United Kingdom, Brazil, Indonesia and Argentina. All position papers are in and the group is now doing last minute preparations for the convention.
