The Accents and Ambassadors will perform at the Concert for the Community, a fundraiser at CHS on March 20. The fundraiser will benefit Therapet, a non-profit that provides animal-assisted therapy to patients with illnesses. Admission will be $10 for general admission and $12 for patrons. The concert will run from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The choirs are slated to perform 22 numbers in total, a compilation of various competition pieces from the past and present competition seasons.
According to choir teacher Lamonte Kuskye, the performance will also feature some solos.
Kuskye also said, “The Accents are going to do a couple things from the fall, too.”
Ambassador and junior Ian Jones added that choir students were excited for the fundraiser, regardless of their often hectic schedules.
Jones said, “Since the pieces are ones that we’ve worked on already, it makes it a lot easier on us instead of having to learn everything at the last minute.” He also said the fundraiser would allow parents to experience some of the competition pieces their children had been performing.
