According to president and junior Rebecca White, Lifelines will continue to do the same events as last year. “We tie red ribbons on cars, we decorate doors and we have a door-decorating contest,” she said.
Since preparations for Red Ribbon Week will be complete by Oct. 23, at the next meeting, vice president and junior Sydney Varma said the officers will be discussing club T-shirts. “We already have the T-shirt and the design that we want, but we think that it’s better if we vote for the color,” Varma said.
Sponsor Rebekah Overbey said she hopes Red Ribbon Week will encourage students to think about making good choices.
“We do things throughout the whole year, but the Red Ribbon Week is like the first really week we start making announcements (and) doing activities for students,” she said. “It’s a time to try to encourage students to stop and think about their choices.”
