The Carmel Electric Ensemble will meet in SRT for all future scheduled rehearsals in the second semester.
Throughout the first semester the club members decided to meet both after school and during SRT, but now Jiwon Yu, club president and junior, has chosen to alter the rehearsals to take place in SRT.
Yu said, “It is difficult to have all our members meet at the same time, especially with the seniors working on college applications, as well as everyone else being busy with their own lives after school.”
Yu and club sponsor Elisabeth Ohly-Davis said they hope for the group to stay motivated and push through the year at least until their spring concert. The concert will take place on April 24.
Ohly-Davis said, “This group has done well with their efficiency.”
With the spring concert marking one of the last main events the club will be doing, the future of the club is uncertain. Yu said she would like to continue as president of the ensemble in the upcoming year.
“I would like to continue running this club until I graduate, the group is fun to be a part of as the years have gone past,” Yu said.
Both Ohly-Davis and Yu also said they would love to keep the club running till the end of the school year and into the next school year as well.
Ohly-Davis said, “It’s hard to tell (if the group will grow or not) at this rate, I’d like to keep the interest going. It has a cool factor that will attract a certain group of kids. I can definitely see it sticking around at the least.”
