Artists Association’s next meeting will be on Nov. 12 in Room C125, according to Andrew Murray, club sponsor and visual arts teacher. The co-presidents plan to do a speed drawing exercise and activity.
Co-president and junior Angela Li said the club members will draw in a comic panel for one minute before passing it to the next person. She said this activity aimed to help artists hone their skills under stress and better understand each other’s personalities.
“They get to expand their creative boundaries. The switch between the comic you’re currently drawing between the next one is pretty big so you have to think pretty fast and think pretty hard about what the other people were trying to draw before you, and then you can add onto that,” Li said.
Murray said, “It will be cool to see how the next artist plays off of the ideas of the first one because they will have to figure out where the story is going. It’s kind of a cool artistic telephone.” By Demi Zhang
