Intramural Sports is planning on adding two additional sports or contests each season to its program, according to Katelyn Nordhoff, member of the Intramural Student Council and junior.
“This year we are going to be adding a lot more games,” Nordhoff said. “We hope we can get a lot more kids to come out and participate.”
Intramural Sports is planning on beginning toward the end of September, but dates are not yet final. Any CHS student who has a valid ID and has not practiced or played for the same school sport is eligible.
A schedule for Intramural Sports will be posted on the CHS website, and more information can be found on the program’s Twitter and Facebook pages . Upcoming school announcements will offer more information.
Matt Petersen, co-supervisor of intramural sports and special education teacher, said he encourages students to get involved in the program.
“It really is for anybody,” Petersen said. “If we have enough people, even in basketball, we’ve created two flights (levels) before. So if it’s you and five of your friends that have never touched a basketball in your life – you just want to come run around and have some fun- there is no prerequisite. If you want to play, come out and play.”
