In the past few weeks, Fantasy Sports Club members wrapped up the fantasy football season. Seniors and co-presidents Clay Morrisson and Karl Schneider crowned a champion. After several weeks of updating teams and playing against other club members, the season is over.
“Now that football season is over, we have to prepare for basketball and baseball later this year,” Morrisson said.
According to club sponsor, Mike Meyer, the fantasy basketball season should start soon, but there may not have been enough interest. The next club meeting will probably be in March before the NCAA tournament.
In order to prepare for fantasy basketball, the players will be drafted based on scoring in the league. Just like fantasy football, everyone changes their line up to compete in weekly head to head match ups. At the end, there is an overall winner.
“It is an enjoyable club that does not demand a lot of time. The amount of time that you put into it will determine what you get out of it,” Meyer said. “People love the competition, many times competing against your friends is especially enjoyable – unless, of course, you lose.”
