On Feb. 3, Senate will be hosting “Neon Dance” after the
basketball game. According to Senate sponsor Michelle Foutz, the event
will last until 11 p.m. with tickets sold for $3 at the door or
through Senators. Proceeds will benefit the Melanoma Society.
“It’s gonna be like Winter Formal without the formal and without
the winter and with a lot more techno,” Senator and senior Mason Yao
said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Senate is also working towards Dance Marathon. On Jan. 26, Senate will help
support Cabinet’s Orange Leaf fundraiser.
“We go to the events, send people to participate, and help promote,”
Foutz said. According to Foutz, Senate learns of most Dance Marathon
information second-hand from Cabinet, but its members still play an
active role.
“I’m part of (the catering committee), so that means getting food to
everyone and making sure dancers don’t pass out,” Yao said.
“A lot of what we’re doing is just getting ready for Dance Marathon,”
Foutz said.
