Stephanie McDonald and Barbara Danquist recently took over the Carmel Education Foundation (CEF) as co-executive directors. CEF will be hosting the fourth annual Ghosts and Goblins 5K/2K on Oct. 27. All money raised will be given as grants to teachers.
“After working on this board, I realized that one of the things it does is make a difference to the teachers because lots of times teachers will not have the funds to be able to do things in their classrooms or purchase things they would like to use as a project for their students,” Danquist said.
CEF will also be providing scholarships for seniors at the end of the school year. “College tuition is very expensive nowadays. I think the scholarships that the CEF offers are a great way to lower the cost of college,” senior Elizabeth Huang said.
