The Africa Awareness club will soon make a monetary contribution to one of the organizations it is affiliated with, such as the Falling Whistles or Invisible Children. It will use the proceeds from its Homecoming booth and its leftover money from the
previous year, according to club sponsor Tracy Hadden. Megan Riley, club president and senior said it is also likely that the Africa Awareness Club will be hosting a fundraiser sometime in January of next year.
“At our next meeting the agenda is to really take a look at how we want to spend that money,” said Hadden. This takes precedence over other club activities because, according to Hadden, the club’s priority is to move the money it has to other organizations before starting further fundraising activities.
“We’re doing a bake sale, most likely, in January,” said Riley. She also said that toward the beginning of next year the Africa Awareness Club will host a screening similar to the one hosted in early November this year. She again reiterated that the primary goal of this club will maintain its focus on awareness and involvement of CHS students.
