The annual Young Life ski trip will take place from Jan. 3 to Jan. 6, over winter break. Families will meet at Timber Wolf Lake at 2909 North Morey Rd, Lake City, MI at 11 pm. Directions can be found at the Timber Wolf Lake Young Life webpage. Although it is a family trip, Young Life member and senior Shana Porter is looking forward to spending time with her fellow Young Life student members as well.
“It’s a family trip, so I’m going with my family,” Porter said. “But I know a lot of the people that are going that are students here.”
Families will participate in skiing, snowboarding, broomball and fireplace conversations. Timber Wolf Lake does not have skiing or snowboarding facilities, so families will commute to Caberfae Peaks two of the three days. In addition to these seasonal activities, Young Life leader Jenna Perkins said that religious discussion would also be a focus of the trip.
“We will do some spiritual content,” Perkins said (via email). “There will be a speaker that will present a Christian message as well as some worship times.”
Participants wishing to show their Young Life involvement outside of the trip may purchase a Young Life t-shirt for $10 at Young Life Club on Dec. 4, or after school in Greyhound Cafeteria.
