The intermediate telecommunication students are working on a first round of how-to videos for accomplishing tasks around the station, according to CHTV sponsor Erin Earnest.
For example, a project could be a how to work the video switcher or how to set-up the remote equipment for a single camera remote,” Earnest said. “The second round of how-to videos will be on a subject of their choosing such as how to cook a specific meal or how to change the oil in your car. This will allow students to demonstrate something fun and perhaps begin to create their own DIY shows or cooking shows. The how-to videos are a great opportunity for students to demonstrate video continuity and their graphic title design skills. They will also provide guided instruction on some specific techniques around the station that can help students in the future years to come.”
Tyler Meinz, intermediate telecommunication student and junior, said that he is in the process of making a how-to video to set up an audio board.
” This project will be about two weeks,” Meinz said. “It is a relatively easy one. I like the process in which we are going about it. We are doing stuff that only encompasses CHTV and stuff that helps CHTV. We are going to put the good ones up on Youtube, so that way if anyone needs help on a remote setup or anything like that, you can just look it up on your smart phone or computer. I really like that it is not only going to help us now but also in the future. It is very practical.”
