According to Sam Patterson,Aperture Club president and senior, the club’s next meeting will be determined by an email response of whether members want to meet before or after spring break. When determined, the meeting will be held in room C147. Patterson said via email the topic of discussion for the next meeting will either be photo ideas during spring break or opportunities people had to take good photos, depending on the date. Patterson said he would like to remind members that the final contest left this year is due next meeting. The assignment is four “very different” shots on the same subject.
According to Patterson, the most recent meeting was great.
He said, “We had a lot of fun, including a surprise visit by Sam Pickett and a great discussion on moving gifs led by Liane Yue. The end of the year is approaching fast and I think we’re all excited to possibly get the monthly contest winner published in one of the next two issues of the HiLite.”
Sponsor Jim Streisel said via email that the club’s members were very enthusiastic and engaged at the last meeting.
“It’s a small group of motivated kids, and Sam does a great job of working with them and giving good feedback” Streisel said.
Streisel said he believes the contests to be very beneficial to the members.
“The contests help provide some focus to the meetings. Win or lose, it’s nice for the members to demonstrate and practice specific skills. This helps them grow as photographers.”
