Pinnacle, Carmel High School’s yearbook, is preparing for its approaching final deadline on March 15. This is its last deadline, aside from supplement deadlines. Staff members are excited to finish the book. According to Pinnacle advisor Nicole Wilson, distribution is their favorite week of the year. Member and sophomore Joie Li said that she is proud of the yearbook and the work it has accomplished thus far.
Wilson said, “The staff is working hard, holding meetings, and staying late to finish the index and supplement.”
Li said, “This deadline is a lot easier than the last, only about 42 pages are due… There are some loose ends we are wrapping up as well.”
Staff members are focusing on retrieving quotes and mug shots.
The yearbook distribution is a momentous event for the staff, because the school finally gets to appreciate their work. The tentative distribution date is currently the week before finals, May 12-23. Li described it as satisfying and nostalgic. Wilson said, “It’s the first chance we get to see the students’ response. It’s also a lot of stress, since so many people are anxious to get their yearbook.”
Li said, “I’m thrilled to be done with the book but melancholic at the same time. I can’t believe this year has passed so fast. I’ll always remember the great memories I had on my first year of staff. I think it’ll be a day that just hits me, something that I can’t believe will actually happen until it actually arrives.
