According to CHTV sponsor Courtney Qualls, CHTV students hope to improve the quality of their announcements through practice, but they do not have any new segments planned currently. Students have been working on their assigned positions and running through their lines.
“The students go straight into their roles when they come in,” Qualls said. “They’re just ready for the work they have to do that day.”
Jack Combes, CHTV member and senior, said the new CHTV segments were put into the program in order to make the announcements more professional.
“We’re a high school TV station, and this is just some stuff that every TV station does,” Combes said. “We hope to get better as the year goes on.”
However, as planning for next year commences, CHTV members realize that the program may not be exactly the same in the future.
“Maybe next year, we may have to step it back just a little bit as my new group starts getting ready and sort of learns what we’re doing,” Qualls said. “We may have to scale back on a couple of the segments.”
