On Dec. 13, the women’s basketball team lost 44-49 to Fishers. This leaves the team with a current 3-5 record overall and a 0-2 record in their conference. Junior Abby Abel led the team with 15 points. The team’s next games are scheduled for Dec. 17 at Kokomo and Dec. 20 at North Central.
Varsity player and sophomore Celene Funke said that she was disappointed with the loss, but that the team will keep working to improve. “I think that we’re only going to keep getting better, and that’s all that really matters at this point in the season,” Funke said.
According to Head Coach Scott Bowen, the coaches are “very confident in our young ladies this year.” Bowen said that the team will focus on executing and carrying out their game plans in order to have a good opportunity to win each game.
