Spanish Club will have its next meeting on Oct. 29. According to Marisa Arakawa, co-president and senior, there will be food, crafts, and a movie to celebrate Dia de los Muertos at the meeting.
“It’ll be a party with different food; we’ll have a movie to watch and crafts like making sugar skulls to celebrate Dia de los Muertos.” Arakawa said.
Arakawa also said she is looking forward to both the “food and the culture of Dia de los Muertos.”
Kaitlin Olufs, Spanish Club co-sponsor and Spanish teacher, said she hopes the meeting will teach students about the holiday.
“Dia de los Muertos is literally the Day of the Dead and it’s their (Spanish-speaking countries) version of Halloween,” Olufs said.
