Carmel Mayor’s Youth Council (CMYC) will host its annual Pumpkin Fest on Oct. 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Gazebo at in the Carmel Civic Square. Leah Zukerman, CMYC vice president of expansion and senior, said admission is free but students are encouraged to bring money for food and games at the event.
“We partnered up with the Carmel Arts Council this year to spread this event out into the community,” Zukerman said. “Rather than just having high school students come, this event is open to the entire Carmel community and we encourage people of all ages to come.”
Natasha Crasta, event director of Pumpkin Fest and senior, said the event will feature a pumpkin carving contest with a professional pumpkin carver as the judge, a costume contest, pie eating contests, CHS clubs and much more.
“There’s something for everyone at this event: food, friends, and fun. There are also many gift cards and prizes for winning the contests so I hope lots of people show up,” Crasta said.
