According to Sitha Vallabhaneni , Carmel Green Teen Micro-grant Youth board member and sophomore, the Carmel Green Teens and the United Way of Central Indiana have partnered to present to young people about how to create their own service project.
“We will have a presentation, where we will talk about how to create an idea to how to actually do the project. It’s called Youth Changing the World. We will talk to the group as a whole, splitting into groups occasionally. I’ve heard that many people have called the CCPL (Carmel Clay Public Library) to ask about the event, and I am really excited,” Vallabhaneni said.
The presentation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Carmel Clay Public Library on Nov. 22. Vallabhaneni will teach about how to come up with an idea for a meaningful service project, go through the process of implementing the project and outline the process for obtaining funding from the Carmel Green Teen Micro-Grant Youth Program.
Allison Kim, Carmel Green Teen member and junior, said, “I’m very excited for this presentation because we need more teens to get into the green way of life. I think that people should come because it’s a new experience that most kids have not experienced before.”
