The men’s varsity basketball team will compete in a double game weekend for the Sectional tournament by first playing Fishers on March 6 and either Zionsville or Hamilton Southeastern on March 7 if they win.
“You can only prepare for your Friday game,” Head Coach Scott Heady said. “We are not doing anything different. We got a routine that we had all year and we stick with that routine.”
Wesley Middleton, basketball player and junior, agreed with Heady and said the team will prepare similarly to what they have done during the season.
“We will prepare by watching film just like we have in the regular season,” Middleton said.
Going into the Sectional matchup, Heady said the players won’t have much difficulty playing two games back to back.
“I don’t think it’s anything different than what we’ve had to do (this season),” Heady said. “We’ve had six double weekends throughout the season so it’s something that we’ve been through and whoever you’re playing is in the same situation.”
Middleton said the players have been prepared for weekends like this because of the regular season.
“We had multiple weekends in January where we played back to back nights and I think that has helped us prepare so we will prepare for this quick turnaround the same way we have all season,” Middleton said.
