Three more “Finding Your College Fit” workshops for juniors will be conducted on March 16, 30 and April 27 to meet the demand of the last workshops. Additionally, counselors encourage seniors to attend Scholarship Night on May 23, according to Melinda Stephan, College and Career Resource Center program coordinator.
“(The workshops) were popular enough that we added new dates,” Stephan said.
The workshops will be held in the media center during SRT. Juniors will have the opportunity to find what kind of college they should be looking for and how to find it. To get a pass for the workshop, students should ask their counselors.
Stephan said she encourages all seniors who have received scholarships from the school they are attending this fall or from non-university affiliated groups to go to Scholarship Night. To be recognized for their scholarship, seniors must fill out a form located in the counseling office indicating what scholarship they received.
Additionally, seniors who apply for Carmel Education Foundation (CEF) scholarships (due March 13) will also be honored on Scholarship Night. Senior Emily Shady said she applied for CEF scholarships and is hopeful to get one.
Stephan said, “(Scholarship Night is) like a rite of passage.”
