This summer, orchestra members will meet at a day camp to get a head start for the next school year. The camp is required for all orchestra members.
Students attending should bring their instrument and their music, which they should have already picked up and practiced prior to the start of the camp.
Minh Nguyen, orchestra member and junior, said she went last year and that the camp usually takes place every summer.
She said, “It usually takes place a few weeks before the start of school. This camp is usually more than one day though.”
The purpose of the camp is for orchestra members to get together with their orchestra and practice their music. The camp provides students with a chance to see their new music for the year.
“We get a jump start on our first pieces of music for the year,” Nguyen said. “(At the camp) students can also catch up with each other.”
