Artwork created by art staff and students will be auctioned off at the Dance Marathon Silent Auction that will take place on Feb. 24 in the Freshman Cafeteria. The auction will take place three days before Dance Marathon, the main event that the auction will be centered around, according to Ryan Woock, Cabinet member in charge of organizing the silent auction and junior.
“Students and teachers are submitting high quality artwork and all the proceeds will go to Riley,” art department chairperson Jen Bubp said.
The event is very family oriented, Woock said. In addition to bidding on art and other items that will be in the silent auction, attendees can pay five dollars for a dinner catered by Biagi’s. There will also be casino games and a Riley wagon to take pictures with.
“I think that it brings more awareness (of Dance Marathon) within the community because they’re aware about the cause,” Woock said. “Besides the fact that it’s for Riley, if that’s not motivation enough, I think it’s going to be a really fun event in itself.”
