Carmel Gold hockey team to tournament Friday, Saturday and Playoff Sunday
The Carmel Gold hockey team will play four games this weekend, Friday versus Chicago Leafs at 8:15 p.m., Saturday 11:15 a.m. versus St. Ignatius and 7 p.m. versus Culver and Sunday in the Cornfield Cups Play off, at a to be determined time at Henderson Ice Arena.
Senior Will Patton said although hockey season is busy with finals and other activities, the more he has on his plate the better he works.
“It is awesome to play, but practice and having games all the time is difficult. The senior schedule is great because I have time to focus on schoolwork, but that doesn’t make practice any less difficult ,” Patton said.
Head Coach Dan Desmond said that regardless of other activities going on, the ice is where the boys must focus. “It is hard for the boys on long tournament weekends but it doesn’t make the game any less enjoyable for me or them,” he said.
