Meera Chander, one co-leader of Tech Hounds, said the next meeting for the club is scheduled to take place on Sept. 10. She said, “We will elaborate on each division, how it contributes during the pre-season, building season and competition season.”
The Tech Hounds call-out meeting was after school on Sept. 3 in the LGI room. Around 80 people attended this meeting, and a majority of them were interested in becoming a Tech Hound. George Giltner, the robotics coach for five years, gave an hour-long explanation of the different sections of Tech Hounds, the requirements needed to become a member and the major events planned for the future.
Tech Hounds competitions includes two regional competitions as well as a final competition held in Atlanta. The first regional is always held at Purdue University and the second regional is held at another location that is usually only a few hours away from Carmel.
Adam Wilmes, co-leader of the entire Tech Hounds organization, rumored that the competition during the year 2011 might be held in the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
If the Tech Hounds perform well in both the regional competitions, they can advance to the Atlanta Championship which is “global and has over 350 from around the world including Israel, Germany, and Australia,” according to Wilmes.
