Winter Cheerleading team does a back handspring during their time out cheer. They were cheering at a Women’s basketball game on Nov. 27.
According to cheerleader and senior Sammie Roger, the stunt groups have focused on improving their skills in preparation for the game. Roger said she likes having fans to encourage and cheer for and is looking forward to this season as it is her last.
“I love to cheer at home games with my friends when there’s a huge student section with us, I hope to have the best season yet and be able to cheer with my teammates into the championship games,” Roger said via email.
Cheerleader and junior Cecilia Warrington also said she enjoys cheering at home games and being close with all of her friends. Warrington set a goal for herself this season.
“I want for my stunt group to learn new stunts,” Warrington said via email. Warrington mentioned working on new stunts, pyramids, and cheers during practices.
The game will start in the varsity gymnasium at 7:30 p.m. following the junior varsity team.
