The next Aperture Club meeting is scheduled for Jan. 13, according to Arjuna Capulong, Aperture Club president and junior. Since the members of the club have not met for over two weeks, Capulong said the meeting will be more to get recollected for the next semester.
In a usual meeting, however, the Aperture Club has a procedure for critiquing.
“After we upload the photos online to Flickr, we’ll look at each others’ photos and critique and make suggestions for improving everyone’s photos,” Capulong said.
According to Capulong, this process of critiquing is beneficial for every photographer because this is the most efficient way to make improvements.
As the president of the Aperture Club, Capulong plays an important role in this club. He organizes meetings, manages the public relations and communicates with the members of the club.
“I allow the students to make the decisions regarding the club,” Aperture Club sponsor Jim Streisel said.
“It’s amazing that Carmel never had a photography club, despite the number of photography classes it offers, until the Aperture Club,” Capulong said. “I’ve been in this club for two years, and I think it’s nice to be around people who express the same interests as me.” By Monica Cheng <[email protected]>
