Currently ranked 7th in the state, the softball team is set to take on Noblesville on May 21. The matchup is the team’s last regular season game. Opening pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Noblesville.
Outfielder and senior Andrea Brackman said the Hounds feel they are currently playing at their best and are looking to pick up a final regular season win before the opening round of Sectional play begins on May 24 in Westfield.
“We have a lot going for us,” Brackman said. “We have connected and bonded as a team, and we are at the top of our game at the right time this season.”
The Hounds and Millers are both favored to win their first round Sectional matchups against Zionsville and Westfield, respectively. If both teams prevail they will meet in a rematch on May 25 in the second round of Sectional play. Brackman said the team already has its eye on that potential matchup.
“We’re looking to get used to their pitcher and see what they have,” Brackman said. “They always give us a good game. It’s always a close game, but I think we have what it takes this year to go all the way.” By Andrew Browning <[email protected]>
