Artworks from young artists are showcased on the CCS board meeting room. Each semester, exceptional young artists from across our schools are chosen to showcase their work for a Young Artist Award.
Carmel Clay Schools (CCS) changed the Assessments and Culminating Experiences (ACE) schedule, which occurs from Dec. 16 to 19. This year, all ACEs will happen in the morning instead of the afternoon.
Superintendent Michael Beresford said they discussed moving ACE times at their school board meeting on Nov. 11.
Beresford said, “One of the main reasons for changing the ACEs to the morning was because you had a lot of students that didn’t like hanging around and waiting (for their ACEs) because it was pretty stressful. It seemed like days were loading on kids where they had like a whole lot of them [ACEs] on one day and not on another day. But, the other part of it is that not many people come to school during the morning session. There were a lot of logistics of a pretty long traffic jam and we wanted a more ‘normal’ arrival at school.”
However, in response to this change, senior Eesha Singh said she does not like the change.
Singh said, “I understand why administration did it [change the ACE schedules], but I just feel like that time before the exams was really vital and a lot of people used the time wisely to study in groups.”
