Foreign exchange program to meet Oct. 28

The foreign exchange students will meet on Thursday, Oct. 28 at 9:45 a.m., according to counselor David Mikesell, who oversees the program.

“At this meeting, students will be sharing food from their home countries,” said Mikesell via e-mail.

Sven Gruel, a senior from Germany, is a student who participates in Carmel’s foreign exchange program. “The foreign exchange program is important because it gives us an opportunity to learn a new language and it helps us become more independent,” said Gruel.

Gruel plays on the soccer team, and says that it is a great way to meet new people and help adjust to a new school.

“These are all nice kids,” said Mikesell. “I would just say that everyone should be welcoming to them.” By Bobby Browning
