The Spirit Shop is open from 7:15 to 7:45 a.m. before school and during SRT.

The Spirit Shop has been a tradition at CHS for many years. The shop opens around the week of Homecoming and is operated on a daily basis from there on.

Although DECA is the organization that manages the Spirit Shop, not every member participates in managing its affairs. Katie Bosler, DECA Class Representative and junior, said, “The Spirit Shop is only managed by the senior business co-op students. They work at the register, fold the clothes, and arrange the displays.”

This year, the Spirit Shop is showcasing new merchandise. New sweatshirts, sweatpants and T-shirts are being ordered. According to DECA sponsor Janice Brown, this year’s catalog includes a new item that hasn’t been displayed in previous years, sillybands. Because of the new trend in the popularity of sillybands, DECA has decided to incorporate them into its catalog.

Some of its merchandise, however, is still in the process of shipment.

“Some of our items were supposed to arrive last week, but we just received confirmation that they would arrive this week,” Brown said. By Chris Li <[email protected]>
