FCCLA members are preparing for the state conference, which will take place the first weekend in March, so all club members are coming up with their star events. These events are similar to class projects, but members then take them to the competition level.
“There are about 50 or so different competitions like culinary, career investigation, fashion, community service, or recycling,” club sponsor Nancy Spencer said.
In some events like the culinary competition, the students will actually cook for judges and compete against other students.
“We do this every year and everyone in the club usually participates, it’s just a matter of what they want to do,” Spencer said.
There are no other upcoming events other than the March conference, Spencer said, but she said she still urges students to join the club at any point.
