Dance Marathon applications are still available in the Activities Office and will be due on Jan. 27. Money will not be due until the day of the event, which is from 4 to 10 p.m. on Feb. 25. According to House sponsor Sarah Wolff, House will continue sponsoring food fundraisers in preparation for Dance Marathon. The next fundraiser is at Orange Leaf on Jan. 26, and 20 percent of proceeds go to Riley Hospital for Children.
“We have a really big connection with Orange Leaf because the daughter of the owner has been a Riley kid for most of her life,” Wolff said. “And because of that, they’ve been really supportive.”
There will be another Chik-Fil-A food fundraiser on Feb. 8, and Cabinet members will be selling Chik-Fil-A breakfast sandwiches for $3 during late starts of February for early-bird students who ride the bus to school. Meanwhile, House will continue selling Cold Stone ice cream during Friday lunches for the remainder of the month of January.
“Charity in any form is an important thing,” speaker of the House Mohammad Issa said. “Dance Marathon raises money which affects a lot of people, including students at CHS. It’s a great cause, and teens can come together to have fun and do something good for the community.”
