Ten HiLite staff members earned awards in the 2012 International Writing/Photo Contest sponsored by the American Society of News Editors (ASNE) and Quill and Scroll. There was a total of 3,039 entries in 12 divisions, and 401 individual student winners were selected in the different categories. In addition, senior winners are eligible to apply for several scholarships in journalism.
